Key promises in the Oath:

Give up loyalty to all foreign countries and their rulers

Support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States

Bear true faith and allegiance to the same

Bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by law

Perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces when required

Perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required

Take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion

Q: What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?
A: Give up loyalty to other countries / defend the Constitution / obey the laws / serve in the military if needed / be loyal to the United States

After the ceremony: You receive your Certificate of Naturalization. You can immediately apply for a US passport and register to vote.
