The Spanish simple future tense describes what will happen. It is one of the easiest tenses — add endings directly to the infinitive, no stem change for regular verbs.
Formation: Infinitive + Ending
- yo — -é: hablaré, comeré, viviré
- tú — -ás: hablarás
- él/ella — -á: hablará
- nosotros — -emos: hablaremos
- ellos — -án: hablarán
Irregular Future Stems
- tener → tendr-: tendré
- venir → vendr-: vendré
- poder → podr-: podré
- hacer → har-: haré
- decir → dir-: diré
Example Sentences
- Mañana estudiaré más. — Tomorrow I will study more.
- ¿Vendrás a la fiesta? — Will you come to the party?
The future also expresses present probability: ¿Dónde estará? — I wonder where he is.
