The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized college entrance exam administered by the College Board.
Structure (Digital SAT, 2024+):
1. Reading & Writing — 54 questions, 64 minutes (2 modules)
2. Math — 44 questions, 70 minutes (2 modules)
Total time: 2 hours 14 minutes
Score range: 400–1600 (800 per section)
Adaptive: The second module adjusts difficulty based on your first module performance. Nail module 1 and you get harder (higher-scoring) questions in module 2.
Key fact: Over 1.9 million students take the SAT each year. Most competitive colleges expect 1400+. Top 20 schools see 1500+ as baseline.
