Kinematics equations (constant acceleration):
v = v₀ + at
x = x₀ + v₀t + ½at²
v² = v₀² + 2aΔx
g = 9.8 m/s² (use 10 m/s² on MCAT for easier calculation)
Newton's Laws:
1st — Object at rest stays at rest; object in motion stays in motion (inertia)
2nd — F = ma (net force = mass × acceleration)
3rd — Every action has equal and opposite reaction
Work and Energy:
W = Fd cosθ (work = force × displacement × cos of angle)
KE = ½mv²
PE (gravitational) = mgh
Conservation of energy: KE + PE = constant (no friction)
Power: P = W/t = Fv
Momentum: p = mv. Conservation of momentum: m₁v₁ = m₂v₂ (elastic collision). Impulse: J = FΔt = Δp
