Strengthen & Weaken Questions

Strategy for both:

1. Identify conclusion. 2. Identify premises. 3. Find the GAP. 4. The right answer addresses that gap.

Strengthen: Fills the gap, adds support, or eliminates an alternative explanation.

Weaken: Widens the gap, introduces a problem, or provides an alternative explanation.

Trap: An answer that seems relevant but addresses a different part of the argument. Stay focused on the specific logical connection.

Degree matters: You want what MOST strengthens/weakens. Multiple answers might slightly help — pick the biggest impact.
