All About Eve (1950), written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, stars Bette Davis as aging Broadway star Margo Channing and Anne Baxter as Eve Harrington — a young fan who insinuates herself into Margo's life and begins systematically stealing everything she has built.
The film is simultaneously a backstage melodrama, a character study of ambition and betrayal, and a meditation on aging, relevance, and the price women pay for careers in a male-dominated world. It has only grown in resonance with time.
