Rogue (Anna Marie) is an X-Man who absorbs the memories, personality, and powers of anyone she touches — making direct human contact impossible. Created by Chris Claremont and Michael Golden in 1981, Rogue began as a villain who permanently stole Ms. Marvel's powers and memories before joining the X-Men seeking redemption. Her inability to touch without harming became one of Marvel's most poignant metaphors for isolation, longing, and the fear of intimacy.
