Hulk (Bruce Banner) is a gamma-irradiated scientist whose repressed rage transforms him into an enormous green behemoth — the strongest there is. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962, Banner's duality explores trauma, anger, and the dangerous consequences of unchecked power. "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets" is one of comics' most famous rules. His many personas — grey Hulk, Professor Hulk, World Breaker Hulk — reflect the fractured psyche beneath the muscle.
