
Slash (born Saul Hudson on July 23, 1965, in London, England) became one of rock music's most recognizable guitarists as the lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses, the Los Angeles-based band formed in 1985.
Slash joined Guns N' Roses in 1986 and performed on their debut album Appetite for Destruction (1987), which sold over 30 million copies worldwide and established the band as a major force in hard rock. His signature top hat and curly hair became iconic symbols of 1980s rock culture.
Guns N' Roses received their Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Album in 1989 for Appetite for Destruction. Slash formed the supergroup Velvet Revolver in 2002 with former Stone Temple Pilots members and later released solo albums including Apocalyptic Love (2012) from Los Angeles, California.
