Alex Lifeson (born Aleksandar Živojinović on August 27, 1953, in Fernie, British Columbia, Canada) is the guitarist and primary composer for the Canadian progressive rock band Rush, formed in Toronto in 1968.
Musical Career
Lifeson joined Rush in 1968 alongside bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee and drummer John Rutsey. The band became known for complex arrangements combining rock, metal, and jazz influences. Over five decades, Rush released 19 studio albums, with Lifeson composing or co-composing many tracks alongside drummer Neil Peart.
