Legs Diamond (1897–1931) was a Prohibition-era bootlegger and gangster in New York known as the Clay Pigeon for his remarkable ability to survive assassination attempts — he was shot multiple times on multiple occasions and always recovered. He worked under Arnold Rothstein and later operated independently in the Catskills. His luck finally ran out in 1931 when he was shot dead in his sleep in Albany, New York, following his acquittal on kidnapping charges.
