Felix Mitchell (1953–1986) was the leader of the 69 Mob, a drug trafficking organization that dominated Oakland, California in the early 1980s. He ran a highly organized heroin distribution network that generated millions weekly, and was one of the first American drug dealers to adopt corporate-style management techniques. When he was stabbed to death in Leavenworth Prison in 1986, an estimated 3,000 people attended his funeral in a horse-drawn carriage procession through East Oakland.
