Patrick Collison co-founded Stripe with his brother John in 2010 and built it into the world's most valuable private fintech company — processing hundreds of billions of dollars in payments annually for millions of businesses. Born in County Tipperary, Ireland in 1988, Patrick won Ireland's Young Scientist of the Year at 16 and enrolled at MIT before dropping out to build Stripe after recognizing that accepting payments online was needlessly complex. Stripe's developer-first design philosophy — complete with world-class documentation and a seven-line integration — made it the default payment infrastructure for startups and technology companies globally.
