TaskLoco is operated by Specusoft LLC ("we," "us," "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We believe in plain language — no fine print, no hidden surprises.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Account details (email, name, authentication data via Google Sign-In)
  • Content you create, upload, or store in TaskLoco
  • Usage, device, and log information, including your IP address and browser/device type at the time of login, collected for security purposes, fraud prevention, and customer support
  • Cookies used for authentication (Firebase/Google Sign-In) and to remember your preferences

2. How We Store and Protect Data

Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using:

  • DynamoDB for structured data
  • S3 for file storage

All data is encrypted:

  • In transit via HTTPS/TLS
  • At rest using AWS server-side encryption

We follow industry-standard security practices, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve TaskLoco
  • Support your account and respond to inquiries
  • Ensure platform reliability and security
  • Detect suspicious activity, prevent unauthorized access, and assist with account recovery
  • Process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
  • Communicate updates or service-related notices

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

4. What We Never Do

  • We never sell your information to third parties.
  • We never share your data for marketing or advertising.
  • We never store your payment card information. All card data is handled exclusively by Stripe.

5. When We May Share Information

We only share information in limited circumstances:

  • With trusted service providers who help operate TaskLoco, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) for infrastructure and storage, and Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
  • To comply with lawful subpoenas, court orders, or legal processes
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Specusoft LLC, TaskLoco, or our users

6. Financial and Transactional Records — Permanent Retention

We are required to retain financial and transactional records permanently, even after you delete your account. This is not small print — we are telling you clearly and upfront.

When you subscribe to TaskLoco Premium, we retain a complete log of all subscription events associated with your account, including:

  • Subscription creation, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations
  • All payment attempts — successful and failed
  • Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks
  • Trial start and end dates
  • All billing status changes

These records are stored in our LocoStripeEvents database table and are never deleted, even if you request account deletion. This retention is necessary to:

  • Comply with financial regulations and tax law
  • Defend against fraudulent chargeback claims
  • Resolve billing disputes accurately and fairly
  • Maintain accurate business records as required by law

These records contain your email address, subscription status history, payment amounts, and Stripe event data. They do not contain your task content, file attachments, or any personal notes. Your financial records are never shared with third parties except as required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access your data
  • Request deletion of personal data (subject to the financial records retention policy described in Section 6)
  • Request correction
  • Export your data

We will honor these rights as required by applicable law.

8. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion at any time through User Settings.

When you delete your account:

  • Your tasks, notes, and file attachments are deleted immediately from our live systems
  • Your account record is removed immediately
  • Your financial and transactional records are retained permanently as described in Section 6
  • Residual copies may persist in automated AWS backup systems for up to 10 days before being fully purged

During the 10-day backup window, we maintain a deletion record that permanently prevents any backed-up data from being restored to our live systems under any circumstances.

9. Children's Privacy

TaskLoco is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our service evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or via email.

11. GDPR & EU Privacy Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the GDPR.

  • Legal basis: We process your data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and based on your consent where required.
  • Your rights: You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data.
  • Financial records under GDPR: The permanent retention of financial and transactional records described in Section 6 is based on our legal obligation to maintain accurate financial records under applicable law (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR). This lawful basis overrides the right to erasure (Article 17) for these specific records only.
  • Backup retention under GDPR: Upon a deletion request, your personal data is immediately removed from live systems. Residual backup copies are fully purged within 10 days, consistent with Article 17 of the GDPR.
  • Supervisory authority: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
